2-year position for an "Ingénieur d'Etudes"Molecular biology of DNA methylation in mammals
CNRS, Paris, France
A position funded for up to 2 years is available in our group for an "Ingénieur d'Etude". This is a skilled technical position, for an applicant with M2 level or equivalent, however applicants at "Assistant-Ingénieur" level may also be considered.
We study epigenetic regulators in mammalian cells; more precisely we are interested in the modifications of DNA (methylation, hydroxymethylation, ...), the proteins that recognize epigenetically modified DNA, and the functional consequences of these phenomena.
The funded project investigates the role of DNA modifications in the control of retrotransposon activity, and is a collaboration with the lab of Gael Cristofari (IRCAN, Nice, France). The methods employed include mammalian cell culture (human cell lines, mouse ES cells), CRISPR mutagenesis, molecular biology (cloning, qRT-PCR), ChIP, and DNA methylation analyses (local or genome-wide).
Our group is part of a highly successful department devoted to Epigenetics and Cell Fate. The workplace is friendly and international. We are located in a recent research facility in a vibrant area of Paris. Visit our website http://parisepigenetics.com/ for more details on the lab and our research interests.
We are committed to offering excellent conceptual, technical, and professional training to people joining the lab. We expect the candidates to have experience in cell culture and molecular biology, to be willing to communicate in english, to work well in a team, and to be motivated and productive.
Applications will be considered until the position is filled. To apply, please send your CV, a motivation letter (in french or english), and the names of two references to: Pierre-Antoine.Defossez@univ-paris-diderot.fr
